Hiking along The Archipelago Trail
At 220 km, the Archipelago Trail (Øhavsstien) is one of Denmark’s longest and most scenic hiking routes, stretching along the beautiful South Funen Archipelago. The trail passes right by Gorilla Park Svendborg, located at the stunning Skjoldemose Estate near Ollerup and Vester Skerninge.
Hiking the Archipelago Trail is an unforgettable experience – until your water bottle is empty and your energy runs low. But don’t worry: we’re here to help make your hiking trip on South Funen as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
During our opening hours, hikers are welcome to stop by and make use of the following:
Refill your water bottle
Access to restroom facilities
Information about nearby accommodation options
Enjoy a snack, Skarø ice cream, organic coffee, or soft drink
Take a rest or enjoy your packed lunch with a view of the UNESCO Global Geopark – the South Funen Archipelago

Gorilla Park Svendborg offers unique overnight options along the trail section between Fjællebroen and Svendborg, near Egebjerg Hills and the beautiful Skjoldemose Estate.
You can stay in our hammock hotel, a cozy glamping tent, or bring your own tent (advance booking required).
Prices per night:
Own tent: DKK 200 per telt for 2 people (extra person 40 DKK)
Hammock: DKK 200 per person (min. 2 people)
Glamping tent with camp beds: DKK 950 for 2 people
Toilets and a cozy campfire area are available near the climbing park and included with your overnight stay.
